The Manager of Accounting and Research is a key financial position supporting the Vice President of Technical Accounting and the Finance Group in accounting research, evaluation and structuring. This position interfaces with multiple groups within the Company with a significant focus on supporting new transactions through the participation on transaction teams. The manager is accountable for providing technical accounting support for new transactions including articulation and knowledge transfer to the Accounting Operations group for transaction booking and ongoing accounting.
In addition to the position’s transaction focus the manager is involved in broader accounting, financial analysis and research including evaluating and implementing new accounting standards, EITF releases and other regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position requires strong organizational, writing and communication skills.

• Accounting and regulatory research, analysis and structuring
• Technical writing – accounting position memoranda
• Accounting support for new transactions and products
• Implementation of new accounting standards
• Derivative accounting – SFAS 133 compliance
• Lease and Loan Accounting Standards – SFAS 13, FIN 46, etc
• SOX 404 process oversight and review
• Production of high quality financial reports and analysis
• Maintenance, documentation and implementation of internal accounting procedures and policies
• Special projects – strategic initiatives

• Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Accounting.
• CPA.
• Minimum 7 years of audit/accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory and internal controls.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
• Financial modeling – book, tax, economic.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
